Instagram — or is it?

I love those awesome iPhone apps with the photo filters. A couple that come to mind are Hipstamatic and Instagram. However, I am not equipped with an app friendly phone. Fact is, I don’t even have a smart phone. Which is fine, I’m not complaining. I would love to have apps though, in fact I’m almost obsessed with the idea. It’s my goal to have at least an iPod touch, just so I can download all of the apps I like. I am a fool for apps. This has only been increased by the fact that my little sister now has an iPhone, and I love her Instagram app.

So you could imagine my delight when I notice a post from Adobe Photoshop about some actions someone has created that makes your photos look like they are Instagram photos. Not only that, they were free, so I downloaded those puppies faster than a kid eating candy. (Or something like that, roughly)

I have to say, I’m pretty happy with the results. Some of them don’t work quite right because I am using an ancient version of Photoshop (let’s just say there isn’t even a “c” involved with this version — yeah that’s right, I’m kicking it old school) not all of the functions work quite right, but it works well enough to get some neat shots.

I don’t remember which actions I did on each of these, but I’m pretty sure the first one is “Gothic” and the last one is “Lord Kelvin”. This is a lot of fun, even addicting! The actions came from Daniel Box. So go get you some and try it out!

Well Wishes,
Allison
